Eligibility Criteria for UK Commonwealth Scholarship 2021

Candidates need to fulfill certain eligibility criteria to apply for Commonwealth Scholarship in UK. Candidate must complete their territory education in English Medium. Candidates who are all nominated for Commonwealth Scholarship UK need to submit their IELTS exam score. Candidate who have been in UK on training, or internship for a duration of 6 months, and then they are eligible to apply for UK commonwealth scholarship 2021 provided they must have stayed in India for 2 consecutive years. But unfortunately, candidate who is already in UK is not eligible to apply for the scholarship.

To study Master’s in UK

• Need to be an Indian citizen
• Candidate’s age must be below 40 years.
• Complete or hold their bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline within the last ten years.
• Humanities and Social Science group candidates need to score a minimum of 60%, whereas Engineering and Technology, Science and Agriculture group candidates must score a minimum of 65%.
• Candidate should not already register for masters in UK University or Indian University.

• Need to be an Indian citizen.
• Candidate’s age must be below 40 years.
• Complete or hold their master’s degree in the relevant discipline.
• International students who wish to study PhD in UK need to submit the acceptance letter from a supervisor of his chosen University before the interview conducted by MHRD.

The mode of application process is done through online Ministry’s of Human Resource Development (MHRD) website and at CSC’s website through EAS application systems. Ministries will shortlist the candidates and inform them regarding the interview through their registered emailID.

• Full tuition fee is provided.
• Stipend is provided for the students at the rate of £1,084 per month, or £1,330 per month by the London universities
• Cost of preparing a thesis is applicable.
• Warm clothing allowance is also applicable.
• Cost of study related travel within UK is applicable for international students.
• Fieldwork is grant for PhD candidates.
• Midterm airfare to visit home is granted only for PhD scholars.
• If the duration of the scholarship is 18 months, then spouse allowance and child allowances are granted.

Selection Process for UK Commonwealth Scholarship 2021

CSC invites three times more number of applicants than the number of scholarships available. The shortlisted applicants are called for an interview through their registered emailIDs. Candidates are ranked based on the merit. Then the nominees list is sent to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in UK for the final selection.
